I awoke from my slumber,
I awoke from my dream.
Memories came rushing to my mind,
Of a distant past that I once knew….
I lay there awake and;
The flickering light bulb tried to brighten the room.
I tried to fall asleep again,
Shut out the memories shut out the fear;
But, the blinking lights still went on;
went on throughout the night
I lay there on my bed… until the morning light.
