Often overlooked and taken for granted, our health is victim to the chaotic and busy lives that we lead. It is very important though, to remember that despite whatever our work lives may be like, we have to make time for our health and that would include some form of activity.

Having good health is one of the most important aspects of life and therefore it is essential to ensure that you get proper sleep and rest, follow a balanced diet, learn to manage/deal with stress effectively and engage in some physical activity.

Health magazines are a great way to stay updated and connected with the latest of what is going on in the world of fitness. Usually, these magazines deal with almost every possible aspect that you can think of related to fitness. In addition to this, you also get online versions for the same.

Some of the popular health magazines that you should read are:

  1. Whole Living Magazine: Although it was published under the name of New Age Journal in 1974, it was only in 2010 that it got renamed to Whole Living. This magazine focuses on natural and healthy living. It was even known as the Body and Soul Magazine for a brief period between 2002 and 2010.

3.  Prevention: The ‘Go-To’ Magazine for most Indians is perhaps Prevention. It is the number one health magazine in the country and the country’s most authoritative guide for those people who want to be proactive about their health. 4. Women’s Health: This magazine was launched by the India Today Group in 2012. This magazine focuses on women’s health, nutrition, fitness, sex and lifestyle. This magazine addresses the new generation of contemporary, ambitious and confident women in their 20s and 30s who seek knowledge and power to improve not only their own but the lives around them.

The magazine content is very easy to understand: it can be divided into Healthier and Fitter Life, including health, fitness, nutrition and weight loss; and ‘Upgrading Your Life’ which includes beauty, style, sex, relationships and life skills.Cover stories are usually reserved to discuss a Bollywood celebrity’s fitness and diet regimes.

5.  Complete Wellbeing: Complete Wellbeing is a personal growth magazine. It focuses on the inter-connectedness of one’s body, soul and mind and stresses the importance of an individual’s mental, physical, emotional and spiritual angles. This magazine even went on to win the Medscape India Award in 2012 for excellence in media for wellbeing.

6. Life Positive: Life Positive is a mind-body-spirit magazine that promotes a holistic understanding of the unity of life and self with an underlying emphasis on personal growth.

This magazine covers the best of spiritual wisdom, techniques, therapies, gurus, alternate therapies, holistic healers as well as organisations. The magazine has an interesting style of ‘content-approach’ whereby the spiritual domain is dealt with accuracy, insight, thoroughness and discrimination.

7. Health & Nutrition: Health & Nutrition magazine is a publication that is targeted towards the lay Indian. As its name suggests, it provides information regarding health and nutrition. You will find motivational information to lead a healthier life and it is targeted towards every section of society: be it a college youth, a homemaker, a busy executive or even a regular body builder.

This magazine most often covers topics that are enriching towards your health and you can find sections regarding celebs secrets, sex and relationships, weight loss, fitness forum, self-care and more.
