Its Our Karma… We cannot escape it!

Understanding your karma is one of the most important aspects of life in order to change anything about your life. What makes situations go sour and unfixable? What is the root of a hurt soul or illness? What makes things go well and life so joyful? Is it something that we are responsible for or is it something that we create?

What is karma in the first place and can things in our lives ever change? A sum of the actions of a person in his current life state as well as of his past life state creates effects in one’s life which is known as karma. Either the good luck or the bad luck that we get is a result of the consequences of the actions in a previous life.

While good karma is a result of good actions from the past, bad karma is a result of intentional harm caused to others. At times, your actions may even result in chronic pain and suffering, resulting in negative or destructive karma.

Signs of good karma include being born into a wealthy family, having a healthy body, having high intelligence or knowledge and being born into a pious family. Signs of bad karma include repeated negative patterns, strained relationships, chronic health issues, unexplained misfortunes, strong guilt or regret, emotional turmoil and lack of progress or growth.

Whatever situations or interactions that occur in our lives are ways by which we navigate our path towards our higher purpose!

Why do some people die and why do some people live so long? Why do people get forgiven so much, getting chance after chance to live a life of purpose? Why do people get no chance to make amends to their lives or to their relations with people? Is death something that is elusive or is death so very real? Sometimes we may wonder, what we have done to deserve the consequences that we face in life when we don’t think we have done anything at all.

Why do our parents divorce each other, while others painstakingly crave a partner or companion? Are these decisions made from the very beginning of our lives or are they created by our actions in life?

Have I not been nice enough or have I not acted with good sense? These are some of the deep philosophical questions that some people may ponder. Some may even have the privilege of getting married but face miscarriage after miscarriage, or even have a very tumultuous relationship. Some may even remarry and leave their past behind for someone else.

Emotions that we feel whether happiness or sadness, despair or elusiveness all are caused by karmic ties to our past. Karma plays a significant role in Buddhism which relies on the law of cause and effect. Every single action in the universe produces a reaction no matter what! Every single effect in our world has a cause – an originating point. It is very important to understand this so that we can understand ourselves in a much better manner.

There is no sense of revenge when it comes to karma: it is a simple law of cause and effect. That is why it is important to always maintain good thoughts and actions because there will always be a consequence as a result. One of the best ways to understand your karma is to simply see what’s happening in your life right now. Whether it is life patterns, unresolved issues or repeated challenges; you can definitely then learn some lessons on how to deal with the issues in your life.

One of the most important statements about karma is that no action goes unnoticed.  Whatever you put out into the environment, you will get back – good or bad. You have to embody and be worthy of the things that you want so that you can get them.
