It’s the last
day of the year…31st of December… A Time for Celebration… As a
chapter closes on one year, it opens upon a new one, and this is celebrated
with Great Spirit and enthusiasm on a global scale. Now, don’t you wish you
could indulge in the sweet cakes and pastries and deserts all lined up for the
evening and not have to worry about over-eating?

Here are 7 easy
ways to control what you eat on New Years!
1.
Switch on your conscious tab!
When you go
for the party, you’re bound to give in to emotions and feel that it’s alright
to not pay attention to what you’re eating. DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE. SWITCH ON
YOUR MENTAL CONSCIOUS ALERT SIGNAL before going for the party! It’s ok to have
deserts, but stay in control- Remind yourself that you can’t go crazy over
food!
2.
Eat in small portions.
It’s just a new year, don’t loose control over yourself by eating to your
heart’s content! Stays focused on your food in-take and, try to enjoy yourself
at the party rather than focusing on the food… no matter how tempting it is!
Take in small portions, but stay in control… you have to remember that it is
10 times tougher to lose the weight you put on, which only takes a second of
your time to put that weight on!
3.
Be selective while choosing the food to eat when at when at the party.
Choose more of healthy food like salads, or protein rich foods. Of course, the
party won’t have a health conscious counter put up, but as far as possible
stick to the healthier ones if temptation arises!
4.
Drink a lot of liquids: Drinking a lot of liquids to satiate your hunger
when at the party is a good idea. The more liquids you take in, the less space
there is for food, avoiding chances of over eating!
5.
Do not stand/sit near the table where the food
is kept
as this will constantly
tempt you to indulge in eating. Try to avoid lingering around the food tables.
This should keep a control on your food in-take.
6.
 Channelize
your attention on the party, rather than on the food
!
You have come to celebrate the last day of the
year- not celebrate the last day of your life. Enjoy the music; engage in
conversations, talk to people you may not know at the party. Have a good time,
don’t think too much of the great food being served. There’s a whole year to
eat sweet foods.

7.
Chew your food slowly: Give yourself time to relish the taste of your
food. Chew slowly, and do not gulp
the food down in a way to satiate your hunger. The slower you eat, the more likely
you are to avoid chances of re-serving yourself again at the party.
