Icon Business Forum's 'The Outsiders Film Festival'

If you are an aspiring filmmaker, director, producer, screenwriter or actor; the OUTSIDERS FILM festival is where you should have been this Wednesday – the 22nd of November, 2023. 

With an ensemble of 8 short- films; writer- Tarun Agarwal, under his prolific start-up company Icon Business Forum, organised this initiative along with director- Param Kalra at The Veda Factory, Andheri. The event was anchored by a content creator and influencer, Chandni Somaya. 

With Tarun Agarwal’s short film ‘Honesty Weds Dishonesty’ starting off the event, the event soon became a crowd-puller as many notable film-makers such as Sangeeta Babani, Vinita Nanda, Amit Be Nandita Puri, National Award-winning director -Iqbal Niyazi, Param Kalra and Tarun Agarwal screened their films. 

The short films included Honesty Weds Dishonesty, Dhuaan, Khidkiyaan, Happy Got Lucky, Favourite Chai, Mulaqat, CH20 and Alfaaz.

1.     Honesty Weds Dishonesty – Tarun Agarwal – starring Mohammad Ali Shaikh

2.     Dhuaan – Iqbal Niyazi – starring Zarina Wahab

3.     Khidkiyaan – Iqbal Niyazi starring Anjan Srivastav and Nikhat Khan

4.     Happy Got Lucky – Param Kalra starring Vidit Sharma, Bushra Shaikh and Anjali Krishna

5.     Favourite Chai – Param Kalra starring Mandi Srivastav and Kushwant Walia

6.     Mulaqat – Dilip Bhadwaj starring Raju Kher and Nikita Bisht

7.     CH20 – Virag Dhulia starring Karthik Shankanarayana

8.     Alfaaz – Thomas A Xavier starring Sangeeta Babani     

Besides this, there were 3 trailers that were also shown.  The event was ensued by many 

talks such as Anusha Srinivas Iyer, Rahul Kapoor, Teena Kaur, Manveer Gurjar, Amit Behl, Vinod Pande, Nandita Puri and J Brandon Hill, etc. 

The event was held at a Mumbai-based creative space for artists where they can explore and experiment with their art forms – ‘Veda Factory’ in Andheri. Hoping for many more such events in the future, film festivals are becoming more and more of a hot spot for talented folk.
