Four cats sprawled in the household in their cosy apartment in Mumbai, thinking of new plotting ideas.

Bunty, the dramatic and mischievous one, Babli- with his clever Chaplin moustache; Prince Goldie, the golden tabby who thought of himself as the kind of the world and Mini – the leader of them all who had the gentlest most grace.

It was one quiet evening when their human was fast asleep. “Tonight, we are all going on an adventure!” but I can’t tell you where so soon.  Her tail flicked with excitement.

Babli rolled her eyes, “Is this one of your plans involving a cupboard where we get stuck how we did last time?” “Oh no!, That was just practice! Bunty said very confidently. Tonight the plan is to go visit the terrace. We can see the whole world from there and get a great view of the fish market!”

Mini looked a bit nervous. “Isn’t that a bit too high for us cats” she squeaked.  Primce Goldie stretched out lazily and said, “I suppose I could lead the way for you all”, of course like a drama king!

Side by side, the four cats crept through the apartment near the window (when their human was asleep) and squeezed themself out of the window grill onto the window parapet. Bunty decided to take the lead manoeuvring her way around the furniture while Babli strategically calculated the movements (in her head).

Unlike the others, Mini was extremely cautious, her little paws making no sound, but Prince Goldie sauntered as if he were royalty who was inspecting his kingdom. They all made it to the window parapet, after which they had to walk a few stairs up to the terrace.

However, once they reached the terrace, there was a big door in front of them. Using her nimble paws, Bunty fiddled with the latch until it clicked open. They all began to quietly step onto the terrace, greeted by the cool, gentle breeze of the night and a sky sprinkled with stars.

“Wow, Mini whispered, her nervousness melting away as she gazed at the vast sky. “Is this beautiful or not!” “See, didn’t I tell you that it was worth it all,” Bunty said puffing out her chest

Suddenly their star gazing was interrupted by a very soft sound and all 4 cats froze in their spots. “What’s that Prince Goldie said, his hair standing on edge. Babli then sniffed the air “Uhhh, it smells like a pigeon!”

“A Pigeon, really at this odd hour”, Bunty interjected. Let’s go catch her! Before another word was said, Bunty ran towards the sound while the others all followed her helplessly from behind; half worried and half curious.

There she was sitting a few meters away- a pigeon flapping her wings wildly, which surprised Bunty, causing her to tumble backwards and roll over backwards. While the pigeon flew off, Bunty was left in a mess while the other three cats all burst out in laughter. “What were you thinking, Bunty? What if our human wakes up? But, sure enough, they all burst out laughing and even Mini giggled a bit.

“You are more of a tumbling cat than a hunter Bunty”, Mini teased.

Helplessly, Bunty couldn’t prevent herself from sheepishly grinning. “At least I helped get ourselves here, didn’t I” Bunty added.

Babli, Mini and Bunty were all together, lazing on one side while Prince Goldie royally lounged out beside them. “I suppose this adventure was surely not a waste of time, was it” Prince Goldie added.

“Look at the moon’s bright light shining down on us” Babli timidly added. They all spent the rest of the night on the terrace, sharing jokes, chasing shadows and watching the city below.

As dawn approached, their tongues stuck out of their tiny mouths until Mini scolded them, “Up and about now. It’s time to go back”They quickly traced back their way back home and under the bed. “Wow was that one crazy adventure and our human did not even suspect that we were gone!!” added Babli

About 30 minutes later, their humans woke up to find them all curled up and happy with a smile on their faces. From that day on, we were not just the Mystery Solvers of the House but also known as Whiskers Unleashed!
