Have you ever caught
yourself finding an excuse for not doing any work ? Or in other words have you
ever been in a state unwillingness to initiate any activity? Probably at some
point of time in your life, right?

Your not the only one! 

Many, In fact all of us are filled with thoughts  – THAT WE DON’T EVEN WANT THERE, making our
brains noisy- at some point or the other. This incessant chatter that goes on
and on is sometime the only thing that we want to break free from, because it
feels like a perpetually running chain saw and everything around it is a tree
(to cut!)
Our minds are formless continuums
that perceive and understand objects. It is that element of a person that
enables him/her to be aware of the world and their experiences, to think and to
feel; it is a faculty of consciousness and thought.
Here. thoughts are
constantly being created – ideas/plans/opinions/pictures. etc. Every thought, however can be distinguished into two types: active and passive. For instance,
if you are watching a video on YouTube and the information it passes to the
viewers is heavily biased; then the thoughts you possibly could have as a
result of this can be classified as passive thoughts.
On the other hand,
active thoughts are known to be far more complex. It is a type of critical
thinking and basically refers to analysing information that is projected to an
individual by an external stimuli. It is deeper than passive thinking and
rather than ignoring a thought allows an individual to understand why they have
the thought. 
In short, active thinking is basically being aware of the negative
thoughts and pictures or feelings that enter your mind and replacing them with
positive ones that support the future you.
            
In fact, the reality is
that in life most of the time, we don’t even need to do anything at all in a situation but just
observe, yet we try to unnecessarily 
 do something. Our mind is constantly trying
to analyse or figure things out, even though there is no need! How ridiculous, isn’t it? 
  
So what is mental laziness and when does it come into
the picture?
Maybe, this concept can
be understood better by comparing it to a lack of initiative and perseverance
to complete a particular activity. When your thoughts constantly repeat in your
mind or they go in a state of ‘automate’ where they are controlled by the
subconscious mind it may be referred to as mental laziness. 

This means that
only 10% of your brain (or less-even!)  is actually open to absorb information from
the conscious mind or whatever you may be experiencing in the present moment. Sounds
alarming doesn’t it!
Laziness is a common
human trait, mental laziness is another! You really need to develop elasticity
of the mind to help you develop your mental abilities and persevere. There is a
vast difference between a physically lazy person and a mentally lazy person.
  
Laziness works. And the simple way to incorporate its health benefits into your life is simply to take a nap.
